Well, we are officially in the process of seeking to adopt from Uganda! We are five months into the paperwork and it still seems like a long way off. We were wanting to adopt from Kenya, but it closed for adoptions in September. Uganda was the next closest country that was similar to Kenya. Hans' mom has been to Uganda several times, so we felt we had a bit of a connection there.
Recently, Uganda was working on rewording documents to allow families to adopt children through legal guardianship and finalizing the adoptions in the states. This rewording is almost finished, helping the process to move forward once again! A huge PRAISE! Thanks Lord, for helping all the judges and officials to work together to hammer this out. Thanks for their commitment to help alleviate the suffering of children.
We will try to post updates here when we have them so you can keep up with our process. Thanks for all your prayers! Pray for the little one God has for us and for the sweet, amazing caregivers that are working so hard in Kamapala for these little ones. They are the true heros.

Jill,
ReplyDeleteSo glad things are moving forward! Can't wait to see what little person God has for your family. We are praying for you.
